Transitions…the bad & the good

Plain and simple, it’s been a crazy week. I’ve never felt as much stress working at ViaSat than this past week. But it was all temporary, mainly because I was covering for a co-worker who was on vacation. On the bright side, I learned a lot and now have plenty of new friends at ViaSat =)

But yes…lets discuss the featured image. It’s still pretty nuts to think that Trump is actually our President. I don’t try to dabble much in politics, but definitely try to stay current on major news/events more specifically those that would affect me i.e. local laws, health care, mortgage rates, education, economy…obviously this list differs from person to person. But yes, Trump is now our president. The creator of Celebrity Apprentice is our President. Now, as I prefaced, I really want to begin by saying I am by no means an expert and know everything about politicians/businessmen. I can personally say that I agreed with some of the things that Trump said and I also agreed with some of the things that Hilary said. I always find myself in the middle. The country is definitely divided. At the end of the day, Trump won…so all I can do is pray for him, pray for country, and be supportive to the people and causes that need support. Just cause we don’t agree with his politics doesn’t mean we can’t make differences within our own communities and our own struggles.

So that was the…bad transition…but lets talk about some of the good transitions…

CATHY got the green light to start working out again from her doctor! I’m hoping that my 8 month lead time of training can finally mean a win for me on our next half/full marathon. Just so we have it on paper…her first run was 3 miles at a 10 minute average pace (ran on 1/20/17). She’s already ramping up and planning a 4 mile run later today if she can find sometime in between the storms that’s hitting socal.

San Diego weather transitioned to the rare occurrences of rain. I swear it’s been like every other day. Four storms headed back to back to back to back in SD. Had a road closure on Elfin Forest Rd on my way home Friday and made my commute home almost an hour to travel 10 miles =/

Flash flood on Harmony Grove Rd! Yikes!

The rain got us couped in for the weekend…but I got to spend some quality time with Huddy while mom worked out and ran errands.

And for the craziest of transitions, I am trying to give up or more like limit my intake of chips. Yes, it is a sad day. But I’m hoping that i’ll see some increases in my endurance. Since I can’t train as hard, I have to find other ways to try to stay competitive. Planning on doing a few road races, a few half/full marathons, and maybe a sprint triathlon. Got to try and avoid that dad bod at all costs.
