It’s hard to believe that this year is coming to an end, but before it ends, one of my best friends is getting married on New Year’s Eve.
In typical wedding fashion, the to-do list and bride & groom stress seems to grow before the BIG DAY. Good thing for Mr. Duque, his groomsmen are well experienced in being supportive and helpful. First duty, flower arrangements. I unfortunately, dipped out early, as daddy duties called, but the rest of the gang stayed till the wee hours of the night.

Erik gave one of the best groomsmen gifts of all time. We all got NIKE ID-Nike Frees!

I didn’t get to capture much of the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner activities (well i did, but only through SnapChat). Everything went smooth and had a blast singing karaoke at Chorus.
Love is patient, Love is kind and is not jealous; Love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. – Corinthians 13:4

I couldn’t have been any more happy for this couple. I’ve known them since 6th grade and they’ve always exemplified an honest and loving relationship. Erik and I have one of the greatest friendships. It’ll started back in middle school when Omar introduced me to all of the Mesa Verde crew. We were skating buddies, Nintendo 64 rivals, lifting partners, and now husbands to our beautiful wives. He’s someone who I could always count on…and as cliche as that sounds…it truly is hard these days to find a dependable friend. Well I don’t want to get to emo here or this blog can literally go on and on.

The wedding ceremony was a tear jerker. Waterworks all over the place…not only in peoples’ eyes, but even outside! Erik and Ashley got to experience the same type of wedding Cathy and I experienced 5 years ago in the same church. Déjà vu, literally, but from what i’ve heard, rain on your wedding brings good luck throughout your marriage. So yes, we’re blessed to have had so much rain on my wedding and on the Duque’s wedding.

…as the night got closer to midnight, the bridal party and the wedding continued with the countdown to the New Year. I didn’t want to miss Hudson’s first New Year, so I grinned and beared it and made it home safely with some time to spare.
HAPPY NEW YEARS!
